Dr Bowden’s appearance to give testimony before the Tribunal of Enquiry into the events of 7th May (pp. 182-212 of transcripts) is a key section of the transcripts; some searching questions are put to the chemist who was perhaps facing the heaviest criticism at the time, for what some perceived at the time as over-zealous attempts at crowd control before, during and after Dr Inch’s disrupted lecture to the student Chemical Society at Wivenhoe House; Bowden finishes by stating that he had received intimidating telephone calls prior to appearing before the Tribunal, and that he was facing concerted efforts to discredit his testimony
