Oral testimony of first-year Comparative Studies student Paul Houghton before the Tribunal of Enquiry into the events of 7th May (pp. 135-158 of transcripts); questioned on the demonstrators’ planning, intentions, and objectives, Houghton insists throughout that the action was collective, and that it was to be non-violent; as one of the demonstrators who spoke one-to-one with Dr Inch, his account of the meeting, and the protracted attempts to escort the visitor out of Wivenhoe House following the disruption to his lecture, is energetic and offers some vivid detail
