These pages of the transcripts of oral testimony before the Tribunal of Enquiry into the events of 7th May comprise two appearances by Tillet: the first (pp. 65-74) picks up where his previous testimony left off earlier on Tuesday 27th, with the decision to call the police to assist in escorting Dr Inch away from the Chemical Society lecture at Wivenhoe House; the second (pp. 75-77, Thursday 30th) returns to the sense of concern felt by Tillett in what he describes as ‘an extremely hot little room and … a close atmosphere for everybody’; Tillet further clarifies miscellaneous details on the scene outside, the title and intended topic of Dr Inch’s lecture, and routine procedure regarding questioning at Chemical Society meetings
