First-year Comparative Studies student White’s testimony before the Tribunal of Enquiry into the events of 7th May (pp. 299-300 of transcripts) is focused, firstly, on the claim in his written evidence that he had seen a police car on one of the University squares well in advance of any disruption to Dr Inch’s lecture to the student Chemical Society up at Wivenhoe House; White is further briefly questioned on the moments during which he was in the front row of students questioning Inch outside the Committee Room, and claims it was far easier to reach the visiting speaker than he had anticipated
