Compendium of twelve brief, near-identical signed statements from members of the Chemistry Department, porters and maintenance workers, all submitted to the Tribunal of Enquiry into the events of 7th May; the statement was drawn up, and signatures collected, in response to a number of allegations that Dr Bowden had damaged a pair of spectacles belonging to second-year Sociology student Jem Thomas during the demonstration against Dr Inch at Wivenhoe House; Thomas was called the next day to the Tribunal hearings to clarify the precise angle of the bend he claimed Bowden had put in the bridge of the spectacles, and decades later he (and others) still maintain that they were in fact damaged
