A further brief submission to the Tribunal of Enquiry into the events of 7th May from Northage, clarifying that the pair of spectacles belonging to demonstrator Jem Thomas were not in perfect shape on the following morning, when he received them from Dr Bowden; many will by now be familiar with the fact that Bowden and Thomas had been involved in a minor scuffle during the disruption of Dr Inch’s lecture to the student Chemical Society at Wivenhoe House, and that Thomas and others had subsequently claimed that his glasses had been damaged by Bowden; Northage’s statement doesn’t quite contradict the one he’d been persuaded to sign on Bowden’s behalf (p. 1 of Tribunal Evidence Ref 73), not least because of the careful wording of the latter
