Following a call from Secretary Robin Dixon, Head Porter Davis added a final written statement to the evidence amassed by the Tribunal of Enquiry into the events of 7th May; Dixon’s call had been a further follow-up on the (by now well known) matter of a pair of spectacles belonging to student demonstrator Jem Thomas; by this stage, all three non-academic members of staff who saw the spectacles the following morning have acknowledged that they were in fact damaged, to some degree or other, by the time Dr Bowden handed them in as lost property
